Carbon Emission Reporting

The Uniting Church recognises that a commitment to ecological sustainability is an essential part of its discipleship. The church also endeavours to fulfill its responsibility to establish targets for carbon emission levels in light of relevant legislative, regulatory guidelines and targets.

For these reasons we would like your assistance in reporting carbon emissions.

The Uniting Church has registered with the Department of Climate Change under NGER Act Section 12 to report all property-related carbon emissions within New South Wales and ACT. This is a mandatory requirement.

Every church group property must report its carbon emissions.

To do this, we ask that all congregations and other entities forward to Uniting Resources information pertaining to their energy use.

This will include electricity, gas, water, motor vehicles and any other forms of energy use. The data we submit must be for a 12-month period.

Each energy bill contains energy values which we are most interested in. If you are not sure, please call Property Services for assistance.

We have placed data sheet templates here:

Emission Statement (an accredited NGER consultant) will be collating all data received. This will then be uploaded into the Department of Climate Change online reporting tool.

This data must be received by May 31 to allow enough time for collection and analysis.

For further information please call Uniting Resources on (02) 8267 4349.
